I know pictures are the deal and more fun than words a lot of the time, but using community computers makes that difficult.  A few days ago i flew from Fiji to Christchurch, New Zealand where i was picked up by  one of the YWAM base staff and taken straight south about 4 hrs. to meet the rest of the staff who were on a weekend retreat…sort of a getaway to focus before the students arrive for the DTS(Discipleship Training School).  Out there it was cabins, river, sky blue, no email, and no phones.  I will try to put up a picture of the base staff on here when i can but, in the meantime, there are 11 of us and something like 36 students coming this weekend.   It was  time of spiritual focus and silence before God to get ready.  Sometimes, those types of silent retreats are like eating a plate of food when you’re hungry.  I didn’t know how hungry i was until i stopped to eat.  Just clearing your mind, asking God for “words,” writing things down, praying for people God brings to mind.  It’s a discipline i think every believer should take part inn…sort of like exercise.  Very much at the heart of

Psalm 46:10, the famous, “Be still and know that I am God.”

Now we’re up at the YWAM Oxford Base just west of Christchurch.   I settled into a room i stayed in before.  Louisa, Birgitta(two of my sisters), and i stayed in the exact same room about 7 years ago traveling around  New Zealand.  Funny how sometimes you get to a place in life and realize that a seemingly chance event from the past was a glimpse into the future.  How many things like that are apparent many years later?  To me, it’s God’s hand in the details again.   When things quiet down a little more(if that even ever happens) i can devote more time to writing a little more….until then…
